skeptics corner topic
When a skeptic challenges Christianity it is usually on the grounds of finding an inconsistency. If God is good then why is there evil in the world? Why are there “contradictions” in the Bible? Why do bad things happen to good people? How can Christians say only they are right? The questions asked presuppose that beliefs and ideas must be coherent and logical and that they need to correspond to reality. That is exactly right. The problem for skeptics is that this same standard needs to be applied to all beliefs. You see Christianity holds up to scrutiny and corresponds to reality. And there are good answers to these and other questions that skeptics ask. I have asked these questions of Christianity and I am satisfied that it does hold up to scrutiny and can be lived out in the real world even when carried to its logical conclusion. Do your beliefs? Can you live out your beliefs in the real world and carry them to their logical conclusion? My argument is that you cannot. Why don’t you come find out?
